Update 1

Long Overdue

We do not deny that this update is long overdue. Our hands were busy creating and making a living out of our love-hate (but more on the loving side) relationship with art. Here we are anyway, a year later since we created this page, and we are happy to report that we have planted 50 trees!

We are thrilled by our accomplishment in the past year and we had to make changes on our initial strategy to get these numbers. This year, we will keep on making adjustments on when and how we choose to purchase trees. Read on as to why:

To purchase and to plant trees, we use our local fiat currency. Because of the value of the crypto currency we are working with at the moment is, admittedly, less than ideal, we needed to strategize the best time to convert our NFT sales to fiat so that we can maximize our collectors' valuable purchases.

We kept our initial plan in our roadmap which is planting one tree for each 1of1 artwork in 2022. In addition to that, we have also created, minted and listed more NFT editions and also joined community events to sell more and be able to plant more trees- and we did! Thanks to the collectors and friends' support in the NFT community.

This year, we will have to convert our crypto sales to fiat when the market has recovered enough because we can definitely plant more trees with higher value crypto. Rest assured that we will keep on listing art as the value of Tezos rises.

Our NFT collectors' and fellow artists' support in the NFT community has been overwhelming. We have a very long way to go in creating value in and in bridging the NFT community and environmental rehabilitation. We have gained friends and knowledge in the past year and we still have so much we need to learn. But looking back to our last year's run and looking forward, we can see brighter opportunities ahead.

Artists Reborn

Consider Down at 9 a pair of artists reincarnated in a new dimension.

The people behind Down at 9 are architects and muralists (A.K.A. physical world-heavy creators) and are now taking active steps toward making digital art for our first collection of NFTs.

Our whole project roadmap is fueled by our love for nature, the human species and all living things. We started this project to make a valuable contribution to the rehabilitation and conservation of the environment through the art that we create.

We have just taken our very first baby steps to start off and we know we’ll have to take the process real slow, be optimistic while being realistic with our milestones and diligently prepare for the long term.

There is a bit of an anxious feeling moving into a digital space when we are used to building a “real world” artistic business for the past 6 years. However, witnessing a young, energetic and enthusiastic community that’s been growing like wild fire in the past year, we’ve decided that we too are ready to dive in.
